The kids are out of school for the summer, finally. Colby spent the first few weeks playing computer games all nite and then sleeping all day. so his schedule was totally screwed up. then he just left with mike to California for a long weekend trip there and he had to get himself back on a normal schedule. what a dork! oh well, it's summer and he's enjoying things, that's what counts when you're a kid!

Cody has a job at the local movie theater, Harkins Theatre. He seems to enjoy it, especially the paychecks. he has his car now (a chevy cavalier) and a girlfriend to spend his money on. he starts up hockey again but this year is playing on a team that mike put together last year. a lot of nice kids, but not a lot of talent, so it will be another year of not much winning, I am guessing. (I hope they prove me wrong, I hate to see Cody on another losing team).

I'll try and grab some photos of the finished project tonight and get them posted.

One thing I should note, though. Now that everything is done I'm not so sure I like the wall color I chose. It was a pain in the butt to paint the kitchen and that was with all the appliances and floor removed. I can't imagine painting it again but for some reason the color isn't as great as I originally thought.

The final step of this ordeal will be the backsplash. We're having a custom backsplash installed using slate and hopefully that will be done soon. Curtis and I still have some little things to complete....putting the rest of the baseboards on, painting the doors and doing some touch-up paint on the areas where the workers have bumped the freshly, painted walls.
